Without more detail, we cannot determine if what you are experiencing with the LG - 50" Class (49.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Black, Model # 50UH5500 is an overscan issue or if the content you are viewing is content that has a higher aspect ratio than the TV's 16:9 aspect ratio. TV manufactures designed TVs to overscan the screen area by zooming into the image slightly. If the TV is trimming the edges of your TV shows, that can be fixed by going into the Aspect Ratio in your Picture settings and enable Just Scan on each screen size so that you can view the screen in your selected size using the original image without any areas cropped. If you are getting black bars above and below the content, that means what you are watching has a wider aspect ratio than your TV's 16:9 (1.77:1) aspect ratio. Some movies usually have an aspect ratio of 21:9 (2.35:1) and due to the mismatch with the TV's aspect ratio, will fill in the space with black bars above and below the content you're viewing...^IFV
