I have not used this feature but I did look at it in the menu. It needs to be connected to the internet so it knows the time. Other wise just set it and go.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use it all the time. I have the TV come on at 6:30am every day. Very easy to set up in the settings menu. This is an out of the box feature with no additional products or services required.
