I have not used this feature but I did look at it in the menu. It needs to be connected to the internet so it knows the time. Other wise just set it and go.

It works great. There is a sleep button on the remote

I use it all the time. I have the TV come on at 6:30am every day. Very easy to set up in the settings menu. This is an out of the box feature with no additional products or services required.
