“Why won’t subtitles shut off????? I have tried both remotes, cable and tv and nothing works. Google says it’s a known problem but can’t find a way to shut off substitutes so annoying”

• Is your programming for the LG 50” Class UA77 Series LED AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2025) Model # 50UA7700PUB, through a cable set-top box? If subtitles (closed captioning) are turned on within the cable set-top box settings, turning them off in the TV's menu will not work. You must disable the captions on the device producing the signal—the cable box—via its own settings menu or by pressing the "CC" or "Options" button on the cable remote...^Ivan.
