• Hi Dave. You do not need to remove any of the metal case for the LG 550 Sq. Ft. 11,800 BTU 115v Through-the-Wall Air Conditioner, Model # LT1216CER before sliding it into the wall sleeve. The unit has to be fully intact when you slide it into the wall sleeve...^Ivan
