I was in the same dilemma, I needed to replace my previous LG and Samsung 1080p (s) 120 hz / 600 HZ and I looked at both and the LG seemed better overall. I selected it, got it home, tuned it with the 4K UHD HDR Samsung Player , added monster and a Rocketfish 4K HDR 2.0 HDMI and it pops....it does take some fine tuning for sound and picture depending on cable, player, console, but once you do that your good. I think you will be happier with either but, in truth, they are both great, LG always seems to be a touch better overall to me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I too compared the specs between the two TVs, however it wasn't until I actually went to Best Buy and compared them side by side, did I make my choice. Had it not been for the side by side comparison, I probably would have bought the Samsung, mainly because I was used to that brand. Being a creature of habit and not really liking change, I have to tell you that the picture quality in my opinion is much more vivid with the LG, than with the Samsung. I figured the worst that could happen was not liking it after viewing it in my home environment instead of the showroom and having to return it. NOT going to happen, as I love it more now than I did in the showroom. It's my opinion that you can't go wrong with buying the LG..!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The LG uses an IPS screen, it has less tearing and artifact with native fast motion and does not need motion smoothing like the samsung and its VA display. the LG also supports HDR10 and dolby vision HDR where the samsung is HDR10 only.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this LG for a week and returned it for the Samsung. Despite trying various adjustments I just could not get a great picture with the LG. The Samsung cost $200 more but I'm very happy with the Samsung, No picture problems. Excellent right out of the box. There are a few preset options for picture, the Normal looks great to me.
