“I just received by 55--CX9 and find that regardless of turning TRUE MOTION off and REAL CINEMA on for film watching, I still see residual "Soap Opera Effect" whenever there's movement. Any sugestions?”

Turn off all those digitally enhanced modes. First thing I did when I bought the tv, Simple solution. They suck and you'll never have a problem again.
