“Still no sound, at all. What have we done wrong? HDMI is in eARC port 2 on TV and goes to my (old) receiver. My surround speakers go directly to my receiver. UGH. Hating this process. TV is a week old now, we've factory reset 3 times and started over.”

You need to go to the audio settings in the TV to change the audio to ARC. Theres many audio settings with this TV so i suggest watching some YouTube videos to help.
