“Is there any way to set a default screen when you power on the TV? I do not have cable, so it comes up in tuner mode with white static and noise. Any ideas?”

If you are NOT using cable-TV, and are only watching over the air TV channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, Fox and other independents), you need to go into the on-screen menu and run a scan of the available local TV stations that can be received in your area, The TV will lock in any broadcasting channels that it detects during the set-up scan, and will block out any vacant channels, so you will only see operating channels and no channels with static.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you hit the input button on the remote, you can select HDMI if you don’t have anything attached (or even if you do). That’s how I have my TV set up and it powers up to this lovely view with no sound!
