“The description states that Alexa is built into the TV, does that mean I do not need to buy a separate Amazon Alexa device? Can I simply set up my Amazon account on the TV and say "Alexa,......" to my TV?”

You do not need to buy a device I had a Best Buy employee and an LG rep tell me I had to only to find out after I bought one I didn’t need it. If you want to use hands free commands you will but they are built in! Just make sure you set up your smart remote correctly or you won’t be able to access Alexa or google assistant!
