Now that you've mentioned it, the timing of the update does make me wonder if LG pushed it automatically, or if I somehow triggered it when I connected it to my iMac via Thunderbolt 2 to HDMI adapter? I connected everything before turning it on for the first time that day and it just started updating the TV and the Magic Remote. You might try goosing it along a bit and see if you can trigger the update. Hope this helps...good luck!
