“Hello, I was wondering if the perimeter trim (metal) around the cooktop gets hot when using burners on high. Just bought LTE4815ST and I am scared it will damage my quartz tops or burn someone in my family. Not sure if this is same material as other.”

No heating of metal trim at all. The pan gets hot because of magnetic flux changing direction in the metal pan. The heat of the ceramic top would only burn you if you forcibly held your hand on it.
