No. As long as they have flat bottom. Cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel pots and pans are fine.

For the most efficient cooking, fit the pan size to the element size. Pans should not extend more than 1/2 to 1-inch beyond the cooking area. Only use cookware and dishes that are safe for oven and cooktop use. Cookware should have flat bottoms that make good contact with the entire surface heating element.
