Ours did the same thing. We cooked on it again and the marks went away. Not sure why or how but appears it fixed itself.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ours does the same if you slide a pan across the top. It does eventually come clean. I usually use the cleaner that came with the stove and that seems to work. Just don't slide anything across the top.
