Yes, the griddle is removable, the burner is oval shaped and is 9" long & 3" wide. I have used the griddle however to use it w/o griddle your pan would have to be big enough to cover flame. The griddle is the size of the entire top of the stove.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The griddle is remove able. It sits on top of a grate that is over an oval burner. The burner underneath the griddle is approx 12 inches long. There is a grate that covers that burner so yes you could use it without the griddle.
