“Are the grates over the burners cast iron? If not, what are they made of?”

• The grates are coated cast iron but not the usual type of coating that scrapes off easily. I can slide pots & pains cross the grates without damaging them or the pots. Red pasta sauce, water, and other sauces have spilled on the grates and I have cleaned them easily. The directions recommend not leaving stains overnight.
