The middle burner would be designed for a griddle not for pots. ^ Jamal

I have two "pans" that this is useful for... one is a griddle, and the other a steak griller (dimensions approx. 8"wide and 16"long.). They work great on the middle burner.

For one, it's designed for a griddle. Other than that, I have 14" saute and cast iron pans that fit great. You just can't put any other pots on the stove at the same time.
