Hello and sorry for responding a little late to this but yes my friend you can turn off the freezer and it acts as a normal refrigerator! I've turned off the freezer part of the refrigerator and it acts like the rest of the unit and the the food stays fresh perfectly. There was another Frigid I had my eyes on but it didn't have the freezer option. I figured I'd buy this one just in case because while it has a freezer you can it off and use it as a normal fridge! But having it just case is nice both ways!
