We do not have a soundbar or any other peripheral sound system. This replaced a 47 inch LG and the sound quality is better. We notice that we don't have to have the volume turned up as high and it is a better quality than on the smaller tv.

We just bought the tv and I was wondering about the sound quality because they say you'll need the additional sound bar, but I think it's good. Ours is in a large open concept living room on a 15 ft. wall with 9 ft. Ceilings. Doesn't sound muffled at all.
