“I see this tv is almost a full half inch "thicker" in depth than the 2016 model (60UH8500). Aside from being thicker, (which is a significant loss in value), are there any new tech/benefits to owning this set over the previous model?”

The 2017 LG 4K UHD HDR Smart LED TV - 60" Class (59.9" Diag), Model # 60UJ7700 is in a different category from the 2016 LG SUPER UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV - 60" Class (59.5" Diag), Model # 60UH8500 which had a slimmer design. In the 'SUPER UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV' category for the 2017 TVs, the comparable model to the 60UH8500 is the LG SUPER UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV w/ Nano Cell™ Display - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # 60SJ8500 which does not feature 3D technology as the 60UH8500 did but does feature LG's Nano Cell™ Display technology and supports HLG HDR in addition to HDR-10 and Dolby Vision and has a depth of 2.3" versus 2.1" for the 60UH8500...^IFV
