At the store were I got mine ,the display for this tv had a lot of light glare and it seemed dull, almost like it had a film over the screen. But when I got mine home I went through the preset picture modes and found the one that makes the picture pop in my house. I don't have the tv mounted on the wall I have it on a stand so when I'm watching it's at eye level, for me this tv is awesome. The picture is very clear and the colors pop nice and bright 3d is awesome. not sure why exactly, but it doesn't look nothing like it did in the store.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only thing i can think of is the video settings need to be adjusted. With this tv you can have separate video settings for each input and if the dvd or input signal has HDR you have to turn on the "HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color" option for each individual input which is found in the General settings menu. I noticed the same thing when i saw this on display at a store, it didn't look as vivid as some other tvs around it but I'm pleased after having gone through all the setting and tweaking it here and there. Also if this is being compared to an OLED tv it will not look as good but those are too expensive for me currently.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TV's in the store are rarely calibrated, I can't speak for the Vizio but this TV needs to be tweaked out of the box. It may not be the brightest TV on the planet, but bright doesn't always equal good picture quality. The backlight needs to be turned up, and Dynamic Contrast enabled. The default settings DO look very dim. Ask the salesperson to let you play with the remote and enable standard or vivid picture settings.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A lot has to do with how the picture is adjusted at the store. Picture modes, HD upscale or custom settings will make a big difference. My experience was exactly the opposite. Eyeball calibration perhaps?
