“I have a 65" LG 4K tv that I purchased in 2014. Will I be able to hang this set using the same wall mount (standard tilt mount up to 65" tv)? If yes, will I have to remove or adjust the "base" of the wall mount that is already attached to the wall?”

More than likely- My old 4k was a 65U9500 I replaced with the 65 OLED Former TV hung on wall at 42" off of floor with Beat Buy brand wall mount --new OLED even with wall mount adjusted as far down as it can go is now almost 8 Inches higher than old LG set. Best buy install team will not stick around to help you resolve issue. I had a new 2x6 to put up to lower set yet they would not stay. So as usual ONCE AGAIN it will be up to me to remove new TV with help-install new 2x6 make correct measurement height-then rehang new TV with help Even if you pay best buy I was informed they do not or.will not install new 2x6 Hope that helps- I may just start a business of helping hang Tv's that best buy refuse to see the process all the way through Hope this helps Jkl

If you went with a third party solution, you'll want to check whether or not your wall mount supports 400x200 vesa mount configurations, and whether or not you have 15-18mm M6 screws..
