An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. In my opinion LG is the newest, best 4K UHD technology! After a lot of research, I purchased the 2016 model. LG's OLED has the ability to totally turn off individual pixels (any or all of over 8 million pixels). This results in unbelievably high quality contrast and the blackest blacks. Also, only the 2016 models have 3.0 software which also gives you "Multi-View" which displays any two input signals side by side at the same time... It is worth it!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.OLED is the technology that allows the most color variation with the best contrast available. Truest reds, Truest blacks. It is subtle in the difference to LED, but if you want the highest quality picture you can get, I recommend OLED. Is it worth it? I'm a videophile, so I want the best. The technology will go down in price in the future but right now you will have to pay top dollar for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought mine for $3200 it is well worth the extra money....OLED Organic LED or Organic Light Emitting Diode
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.OLED stands for organic light emitting diode. I made the switch a few weeks ago and by far there's no other TV that can touch the quality of a an OLED
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is worth difference in price - if you appreciate the picture quality. If you can't tell the difference, of course it's not worth it. Nothing else comes close to OLED after I've had it for the last month.
