Are you turning the TV on with the LG remote or the remote with your DirecTV device? If you use the LG remote, it won’t turn on the device plugged into the HDMI port. I have an Apple TV 4K device. If I use the remote with that device, it automatically goes to that instead of the LG screen. I hope this helps!
