“I came across a comment above about the C8 speakers being down firing and using the stand to 'redirect' the sound forward. Is this true of all LG OLEDs and what does it mean for someone intending to wall mount the TV and not use the stand?”

Hi Payson. The LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55C8PUA, like all our 2018, 2017 and 2016 OLED TVs and all our Super UHD 4K LED LCD TVs and all our TV lineup all have down firing speakers. The sound signals will reflect off the stand or the surface that the TVs are installed on back up toward the listener's position. When wall mounted, the speakers are still down firing and there is no way to fully reflect sound. Some sound waves may reflect off the back wall, but not the way they do when the TV has its stand attached and its installed on a flat surface...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The b8 and c8 have down firing speakers. The e8 doesn’t. It still doesn’t sound bad wall mounted but a soundbar would be a night and day difference. I have mine wall mounted but I have a 5.2.2 atmos surround system.
