“How does this processor compare to the processor used in Sony's 2019 950 series when it comes down to upscaling 1080i off a DISH receiver. I am in a rural area and it will be some time before I can stream any 4k.”

I found that comparing the X1 Ultimate and the Alpha 9 are 0retty comparable. The X1U may have a slight advantage over the A9 in upscale but it may be for some unnoticeable. Also the 950G is a 2019 model where this unit is 2018. The Alpha 9 Gen II should be better than the X1 Ultimate due to it's Deep Learning database.
