Yes, both are on simultaneously. The optical is audio output only, but the appropriate HDMI port is bidirectional digital audio that can be used for input or output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You just said that the LG G4 TV does not support providing sound through both the Optic output and the ARC output simultaneously. Now you are saying I can use one for one device and the other for another device. I guess you mean that I have to choose one of the other to listen to, but not both at the same time, correct?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there, Bob. Thank you for your question about the LG OLED G4 TV (OLED65G4SUB). The TV can output sound through either the Optical Digital Audio Out (SPDIF) or the HDMI eARC connection, but not both simultaneously. To connect an additional device like your Bose SoundTouch 130 while accommodating another sound system, we recommend using the optical output for one device and the eARC connection for the other. https://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-oled65g4sub-oled-4k-tv#pdp_specs If you need detailed assistance setting this up or exploring additional sound options, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and we’ll be happy to guide you further. We appreciate you choosing LG for your home entertainment! —Renzo
