“What are the capabilities of the OS, and it functionality. I am torn between the Android operation system on the Sony OLED's (which I am familiar with) vs what this TV has. Is anyone in a similar boat and can advise. Do I need an additional ROKU?”

If you are a cord cutter like me, you need an external streaming device like Roku or Apple TV or Amazon Fire if you do not find a main stream app in the Web OS library. LG still does not have Direct TV Now nor Sling TV which I use to get live channels. Maybe latter on; you can use Web OS 3.5 with it future app libraries but for now; it is lacking in main apps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WebOS is one of the best Smart TV OS's out there. I used to have a Chromecast and I don't need it anymore because WebOS is so good. You won't be disappointed. It also has a built in way to mirror your screen to the TV.
