The door opens 2 ways but the front opens only about 45 degrees. It does not open completely flat, but it is convenient for loading.

The front of the dryer is slightly curved so the door doesn't open quite 180 degrees - maybe 160. But the door can be changed to open right or left, which may be an option for you. However, when loading wet clothes, the door also opens down at 45 degrees, which acts as a chute to help get the clothes in with less chance of dropping them on the floor. My washer is also on the right of my dryer, but I did not switch the door to open to the left due to the configuration of my laundry room, but I have had absolutely no trouble getting the clothes out when they are dry.
