“I have this dryer and love it. The only thing I don't like is that the interior light does not come on when opening the door, unless you have powered on the dryer. Is this normal?”

I've had this dryer for 15 months and the light is a convenience but works oddly. When the cycle stops, the light comes on and stays on a few minutes, but not generally long enought to empty the dryer. I fold/hang my clothes as they come out of the dryer so one at a time. If you empty everything all at once into a hamper for example, you'll have no trouble with the light being on long enough. The weird part is that to re-light the light, you have to turn the dryer back on, then hold the "drum light" touchpad for 3 seconds. The light will then come back on for some period of time. Very unintuitive, and unnecessarily cumbersome.

This is a great idea for me because I will leave behind an item or two when emptying. The older models did have a light come on every time you opened the door, which was good, but we are more energy aware than we use to be. Hope this helps.
