A:Answer Hi Einstein. The omission of a power cord for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG - 7.4 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Electric Dryer - White, Model # DLE3170W is not a mistake. Power cords for Electric Dryers and Electric Range Ovens are sold separately because the electrical codes and outlets for such products vary to a high degree and there is no standard like there is for other appliances. This dryer can use either a 3-prong or 4-prong power cord. This dryer has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes. All grounding must conform to all applicable local codes and regulations or in their absence, to the latest edition of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70. A 3-wire connection cannot be used where local codes do not permit grounding through the neutral wire and a 4-wire connection is required for all new construction after January 1, 1996. If you are not sure which connection to use in your building or home, you can check with your local building inspector or the local codes and regulations in your area...^IFV
