My new rear speakers wouldn't pair either and just flashed green on and off. I had the receiver placed on the lower shelf of a sofa table behind my sofa. So, I disconnected the speakers from the receiver and moved the receiver closer to the soundbar, maybe 8 feet away, and plugged it in. It paired immediately. Next, I unplugged the receiver and moved it back into place behind the sofa. I plugged it back in and Waa-Laa it remained paired. Hooked the speakers back up and they worked just fine. I must say the so-called instructions in the Simple Manual that came with the SPK8 are totally useless. I discovered that the detailed manual for my SL6Y soundbar which is only available online contained better instructions for hooking up the rear speakers. Sounds like a lot of people are having trouble pairing the rear speakers. Reading the reviews and questions, there are a lot of unnecessary returns because of the very poor and unhelpful instructions that come with the rear speakers and an equally useless and unhelpful Simple Manual that comes with the soundbar. LG would be wise to improve their documentation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issues. Called LG and they wanted me to ship everything to them to diagnose. Wasn’t about to do all that immediately. Are you able to get the rear receiver to connect and show a solid green light? If so, then you need to switch the sound bar receiver (using the “F” button on remote) to the OPT / HDMI ARC channel. It plays through rear speakers using Bass Blast, Standard, Movie, and ASC modes that are chosen using the Sound Effect button on remote. I initially set up the sound bar using an upgraded optical cable but after research ditched that and used the HDMI ARC port on TV... that seemed to enhance the sound connection capabilities. I had some issues receiving rear sound using all the sound effect modes when using the optical cable before switching to HDMI ARC. Hope this helps you. Note: I’m using the LG 65” OLED C9PUA TV, LG SL10YG sound bar, and LG SPK8-S rear speakers.
