• The speakers just connect with regular wires to the wireless base, so you could hook up any kind or number of speakers.

• Not according to their website. That's one of the reasons I returned the unit I purchased (I did get the rear speakers too). I ended up with th be Nagamachi Pro 7.1:DTX and I'm very happy with that system. They have great customer support and advertise that sometime in the 2nd quarter this year this unit will support Dolby Atmos by way of a downloaded upgrade. Hope this helps.
