“Can someone tell me what the round cyclindrical magnet is for on the SPK8-S rear speakers please? The speaker wires were just wrapped around it a couple of times?”

I had the same question - instructions we not very clear on the purpose of it. I did some research and it is called a ferrite core. What I found was that you put it on the electrical cord and it can help stop static and other interference to create a cleaner sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Affix the Ferrite Core for speaker cables - you must affix a ferrite core in order to reduce or eliminate electrical interference. Pull the stopper of the ferrite core to open. Wind both L & R speaker wires around the core (just behind where they connect to the sub). Wind the speaker cables around the ferrite core twice. Close the ferrite core until it clicks. (this is from a manual I googled, my speakers made no mention of this part - thanks LG!)
