HDMI 2.0 can pass compressed atmos through Dolby digital plus so you will get height channels but it will lose the low end bass. Guns will go pop pop instead of bang bang. Other than guns and explosions being less impactful you probably won’t hear much difference. Also while E-ARC on hdmi 2.1 will pass uncompressed atmos most of the sources that this TV uses are still using Dolby digital plus which is still compressed. So until there is a source that streams true HD atmos E-ARC is just there to future proof.
