Is this TV back lit or side lit? null

looking at the spec's on LG its a Direct lit ( LED from back ) and not edge, however is different that Full Array Local Dimming that you might see on some other LED TV's.

It's edge lit. If you are seeing light streaks, you can make them go away, but you have to give up on the contrast. Go to settings, picture, picture mode settings, picture options, led local dimming, and choose "off". If the motion looks weird, you can also try turning off "tru motion" from the same menu.
