• Yes. The sound is impressive for a TV. I don’t have a sound bar with mine. You wouldn’t miss it unless you tried one.

• Yes you can and we did so for several weeks. It is definitely adequate sound level but not nearly as immersive as a sound bar/bass module/surround sound system. All depends on what you are wanting to do. A minimalistic approach would do very well with no additional speakers but we ended up going with a Bose 700 sound bar/bass module and satellite speakers which fit well with what we have going on in our living room.
