Can I plug this into a USB 3.1 port? null

The USB port on the LG - 8x External Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW SuperMulti Blade Drive - Silver, Model # AP70NS50 is a USB 2.0 port. USB 3.1 is backward compatible with earlier versions of USB. You won't get the fast data transfer speeds of the new USB 3.1 standard, but you won't have a problem using the device...^IFV

Most USB 3.1 ports and cables should be backward compatible with this. This has a Mini USB port on the device and it comes with a Mini USB to USB A cable. The USB connection uses the older USB 2.0 standard.
