Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You need several other pieces of equipment, and some software to do that. 1) A video source that has an HDMI output. Perhaps a TV, but usually they just have HDMI inputs. So, a Cable Box or TIVO, Roku, Apple TV or some other video source. 2) A capture device that takes HDMI and converts it into a format that can be written to a computer. I use a Hauppauge HD PVR. It's a box with HDMI in (and out as passthrough so you can see what it's doing), several other audio and AV inputs and a USB port to connect it to a computer. 3) A computer. The computer has Hauppauge software installed on it to control the PVR and set options for resolution (1920x1024 or 1280x720 or 640x480) of the capture and control frame rates and such technical stuff. The PVR does the conversions and then save the USB output to the computer's hard disk. for this you want as fast a disk as possible. Preferably a SSD. 4) Finally, you get to write the captured video to a DVD. To get it to play on another computer, just copy the file. If you want ti to work in a DVD player attached to a TV, other files for the menu and "play button" need to be created. You may be able to do that with the software supplied with the Blu-ray Drive or want something more advanced.
