• There is no volume control on the drive itself. The auto is derived from the connected device. Please see audio settings on your laptop. ^Daphane

• There is no control on the device rather use the computer software to play your CD. This software like Windows Media Player has all functions as you mentioned of play, pause, volume, etc. The CD can be heard on a computer if your computer has speakers.
