QuestionMy wall unit sleeve, has vents only in the back, not on it's sides, my question is can this LG Model LG LW1216ER 12,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Air Conditioner work for this particular sleeve and wall operation, considering no side vent option available.

- Answer AS a Window Air Conditioner, the ENERGY STAR® LG 12,000 BTU 115V Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER requires a single-hung or double-hung window for proper installation. All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure. Non-window installations, including using sleeves, holes in walls or any other installations are not recommended...^IFV

- Answer The LG Thru-the-Wall Air Conditioner 26" Wall Sleeve, Model # AXSVA1 has W x H x D dimensions of 25 7/8" x 15 17/32" x 16 23/32". You will need to contact the manufacturer's for the Keystone KSTAT08-1HC to ask if other walls sleeves can be used with their Air Conditioners and if they will require a procedure to prepare alternative wall sleeves for installation with their air conditioner...^IFV

- Answer The reason you are unable to find a Wall Sleeve for the LG Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1215ER is because it is not designed to be used as a Through-the-Wall unit. As a window air conditioner, it requires a standard single-hung or double-hung window for proper installation. The outside of the cabinet must extend outward for at least 12" and there should be no obstacles, such as a fence or wall within 20" from the back of the cabinet because it will prevent heat radiation from the condenser. That and any restriction to outside air will greatly reduce the unit's cooling efficiency or may even cause it to burn itself out. All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure. Non-window installations, including using a wall sleeve, holes in walls or other types of installation are strongly discouraged...^IFV

QuestionIn a standard wall 4 1/2” is the sleeve flush with the drywall or does it protrude into the room? If so how much? There is nothing in the directions addressing where to secure the sleeve.
