The power usage is about the same as other comparable models per the Best Buy website specs. I specifically purchased this LG to replace two Samsungs that were delivered with defects. The Samsungs were terrible as far as making noise; both made very loud "popping" noises all hours of the day due to the expansion and contraction of metal parts. The LG does not make any such noises and is much quieter than the Samsungs and is probably the quietest refrigerator I have ever had.
