“Can this unit write a mp4 file to usb from an inserted dvd? ( personal DVD, not one that is copy protected). I had some 8mm movies placed on DVD a few years back and would to have them available on portable file format.”

• No, this unit will not allow transfer of mp4 files via USB. You can only Record the Audio CD to USB device. ^Daphane
