You can call on this phone and text. I have not used the WI-fi which it is capable of accessing the internet. (by wi-fi at your home or on the road with Verizon wi-fi). It is like a smartphone but it is a flip phone. Small screen yet it has a good camera. I share the data(internet) with my wife who has a smartphone. Probably will not use it much for data. You can get unlimited data so it will not matter how much you use the internet then.
