As you would with any other laptop, you can transfer your QuickBooks Desktop to a laptop using the QuickBooks Migrator Tool or manually back up and restore your files. Open QuickBooks on the Old Computer, go to the File menu, select Utilities, and then choose Move QuickBooks to another computer. Follow the prompts to create a one-time password for the migration process. Write this password down as you will need it only once, then transfer Files. The Migrator Tool will copy the last three company files opened and all supporting files to the USB drive. Once the transfer is complete, connect the USB drive to the laptop, and use the Migrator Tool to set up QuickBooks with your files on the new laptop.
