It means that if you have a 4K blueray player or a Roku (or any other 4K device that outputs 4k running to the SoundBar through HDMI ARC then the sound bar will output that video to the TV in 1080P rather than 4K. Your TV will most likely upscale the picture back to 4K but it still won't look as good. The best way to hook this up is going to be to use an optical cable. and run all your devices directly to the TV if you want to retain true 4K content. (Granted those devices output a native 4K signal).
