This was my second soundbar. If you want to skip the long review, jump in to the bottom for the conclusion: Why only LG? I was perfectly happy with my first LG SH7B soundbar which I use it for my LG 49” TV (4k active HDR). I bought this second one for my Samsung 70” 4K SUHD TV. Although, I was satisfied with my first one, I thought to give it a shot for Samsung Soundbar since I was going to use it for Samsung TV. I tried comparable Samsung soundbar (although it cost me more than LG SH7B), but the sound quality was still better with this LG soundbar. I also tried several Demos in Best Buy stores and still chose this product. The only brand could compete with this was Klipsch but I didn’t like its design n shape. Comparable Klipsch models were bulky and ugly looking (sort of old time design). Vizio, Samsung, were out of my equition by now. Not comparing with Bose or Other higher end brand as it wouldn’t be a fair comparison since those cost >$700-1000 vs this was $200-350 range. Important point to mention: for any non LG TV, you want to use HDMI cable to connect the sound bar with tv if you expect to change the volume with your original TV remote. (Best Buy associates and even Magnolia Associate were wrong telling me it’s not competible bcoz you are using two different brand but that’s not true.) truth is what cable you use to commect the sound bar with your TV. If you use, optical cable, than you can’t change the volume with TV remote but you must use the soundbar remote. This was even true for Samsung soundbar. However, my LG TV remote simulates with this soundbar even if I use optical cable. The best bet is to use HDMI cable to avoid any confusion or frustration for any brand soundbar for any brand TV. Now, how was the performance? The sound quality was absolutely amazing! It made me feel like sitting in a theatre. You will feel every punch and nodes of the sound, weather it’s a Chevy Silvarado truck commercial, kids animated cartoon movies, drama series, Reality TV shows or even HD movies. This sound bar had the best quality sound in Cinema mode. You can adjust the bass, treble, and sub woofer effect as you like. It turn auto on and off when you do so with only for your TV. No connectivity problems or frustration with wireless subwoofer. I never had a problem my soundbar picking up the random pop ups or sound from neighbors music or etc etc... I had at least dozens of guests ask me what soundbar I use. Conclusion: Long story short: the sound quality was crisp, clear, yet full of all the sound effects. Overall best quality sounds and exceeded expectations with comparable other brand models. No connectivity issue. This sound bar would turn your TV’s harsh and flat sound into the premium quality sound- at least it did in my case!! (Everyone has their own definition for premium quality sound).

I bought this soundbar based on the reviews and recommendations from several websites. The sound has been pretty good. I have only used it for TV purposes (movies, games, tv shows), but I can't say I've been blown away by it. Set up was a little tricky using the ARC channel and a LG TV. But once set up, all was good. There was some initial popping coming from the unit (subwoofer), but after moving the subwoofer to another spot near the TV and after moving/adjusting some cords, all popping sounds stopped. It seems that you just need it to be in a specific spot away from some interference. Another issue is that on rare occasions, the TV and soundbar will get a bit out of sync....voices from the soundbar lag the actors lip movements. This is on very rare occasion. Not nearly enough to be bugged by it. Turning the units on/off and/or unplugging the units did the trick. Again, this is on rare occasion. The last issue seems that the sounds produced by the soundbar come out hollow for a second or two. Perhaps tinny? I notice it a few times a day, but it's not constant. I wouldn't call it distracting or very annoying. Just something that I notice. Best way I can describe it....it's as if while two people are talking, the ambient sounds around them go quiet for a second. This has been the first soundbar I've owned, so my experience with these is limited. Overall, I've been pleased with the unit. Good to very good, but not great.

I've only had this sound bar for a short time, but so far the sound is great. I had an older (and bottome line) LG sound bar and though it worked well, the sound was a little "muddy", plus I wanted a volume display. The older sound bar didn't do a very good job at the soundsync feature. in comes the SH7B. First, the volume display on the sound bar, is excellent. The numbers are bright and bold, very easy to read from across the room (the display does dim and and goes away when you're done changing volume. Although, the volume display is great, on this sound bar, it seems I don't even need it after all as the soundsync works perfectly. I can use the TV volume on the my remote and it works well with the sound bar (if you want the on screen display of volume level on your TV). The sound is amazing for a such a small sound bar. My wife, who is NOT an audiophile and can't tell the difference between a low bit rate mp3 and high bit rate mp3, could actually tell the difference in sound from this sound bar compared to our old one. Sound is crisp and clear with the lows appropriately channeled to the subwoofer. Our old sound bar had a subwoofer, but I always felt too much bass was channeled to the bar itself, resulting in a muddy sound. Not so with this unit. I think one of the big advantages of this sound bar is the fact that there's not only a separate sub level, but also separate bass and treble settings too. I just turned down the bass a little and turned up the treble a little, let the sub handle the lows and the sound is amazing. Very good for a slim design system.

I combined this sound bar with a new LG 60UH7700 TV and it works flawlessly. All I had to do is plug it into the "ARC" input with a high speed HDMI cable and power it up. The device syncs with the TV and the wireless subwoofer automatically and haven't had the first issue in the month I've had it. Power and volume is all controlled with the TV's smart remote as if it were part of the TV. I can't speak for its functionality with other brands or older TV's. As far as the sound goes- it's better than I expected. Different settings allow for good cinematic bass while allowing for clear dialogue. Works well in an open kitchen/ living room with all hard floors where we've had echoing issues in the past. We no longer need excessive volume to understand dialogue. The bass won't blow you away, but sufficiently enhances the sound during movies. If you're getting a new LG TV and want a solid, mid-level sound bar to accompany it, you can't go wrong with this one.

The first obvious problem is connectivity with my brand new Sony xbr-x930d. When you turn the television on when plugged in through HDMI ARC, the delay for the soundbar to turn on is excessively long and sometimes no sound will be produced. Although the Soundbar does turn on when the television did, other reviewers have also had this problem. The best course of action is to unplug the HDMI or unplug the power cord and plug it back in to reboot the connection. Clearly that isn't right, just like my next problem. No matter what channel I'm watching, or if I'm just using the soundbar for music, there is an OBVIOUS drop in tone or pitch at least 3 times an hour. It's constant, it's noticeable to everyone in the room, and it's annoying during movies. The problem got worse after the 2 week return policy expired. If God asked me is there anything I should be grateful for... my only reply for now would be.... Thank you for the opportunity to able to buy such an expensive item. I payed 350 plus tax. So I'm grateful I didn't pay 400 or 500 dollars like many others. The sound review on cnet.com for me is not accurate. Dialogue sound is good for basic tv view, but if you change the soundbar setting to cinema, it's not that loud, and dialogue is harder to hear. Music listening is poor. That's the only accurate part of cnets review.

I purchased this soundbar due to the high reviews and was able to pick up on sale for $399. I matched it with a 49" LED tv in a secondary tv room. The soundbar and tv run the entire length of the stand on which they sit appearing as a custom set up. I haven't heard anything spectacular from the sub that comes with it, but nothing that sounds distorted or to take away from the experience either. I watch blu-rays and dvd's exclusively on this set up. This is my first soundbar and can say I'm very pleased. I run a 55" LG w/a Pioneer Elite AV receiver and Infinity floor speakers, center channel, and book shelf rears in my primary viewing room, so I am able to make a comparison of the two set ups. I gotta say, for the money invested in comparison to both rooms, I'm very pleased with the soundbar! This is not a replacement for a true home theater, but a great option for someone who enjoys full sound and can live w/the "downgrade" in a secondary tv area. Highly recommended. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wasn't able to do a direct comparison w/at least 2 other soundbars at under the $399 price range.

I recently purchased a new 4k tv and wanted to retire my old 5.1 surround system(and its many wires), so I looked at the reviews for probably 30 soundbar/sub packages. This was the second one I tried. The day we bought the TV, we listened to this and many others, it was impressive, but we purchased a different open-box setup that was marked down $600. We didn't care for that, so when I returned that, the store was out of this model. I ordered it from bestbuy.com on a Sunday night, and it showed up on Tuesday. I unpacked it and hooked everything up and everything paired like it was supposed to, but there was no bass whatsoever. After looking everything over again, I called LG and talked with someone on there that had me reset everything. Nothing worked, so I called bestbuy.com and asked if I could return it to my local store. The lady on the phone offered $20-off another one, if I wanted to try again. I declined and the following day, I returned it to my local BB. The following week, I ended up buying a different system, and couldn't be happier.

we wanted a sound bar to match our new LGU658500 and this bar delivers it`s a 2016 model and works perfect with our LG TV it connected flawless with our TV via Bluetooth and with the SUB we use it mostly for movie watching and the sound will kick, the SUB is small but don`t be fooled it will bump during a movie, sound when used with the TV alone is also very good and you can set both the bass on the bar and the sub also different sound modes even CNET liked this bar for movie watching, music sounds good but could be better but it`s fine for us remote works well but it syncs up with our magic remote so we need only one.we have not had any connect issues or popping as others have mentioned voice is pretty darn good to not sure what some people expect from a soundbar but this one does the job 360 watts 4.1 and motion flow at this price point ? pretty darn good.check the review on CNET we sure like it...
