• No. 10 seconds is the shortest time that is possible to set. You have to stop it manually for anything less than 10 seconds. (And, 10 seconds is too long in this microwave for either butter or ice cream.)

• The LMC0975ST has a power level for softening butter. It is P-20. ^CP
