“I have a condo in Florida to which am absent in summer. There are occasional power outages so I want to know if humidifier restarts does pump also restart as I drain water up into my sink. Can I control pump and motor with WiFi?”

Hi Rod. The LG PuriCare 2019 Energy Star 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Built-In Vertical Pump and Wi-Fi in Black, Model # UD501KOJ5 cannot be operated continuously for more than 23 hours. After 23 hours of continuous operation, the compressor automatically shuts off for one hour to prevent product damage. The compressor will restart after one hour. This Safety Standby function is normal. The unit does have an Auto Restart mode that will turn the unit back on after a power outage. The built-in drain pump that allows for continuous water drainage directly into a sink, out a window or down a drain will not restart when the dehumidifier restarts after a power outage. That is something that you will need to control remotely from your smartphone. With WiFi capability you can expand the limits of your dehumidifier using the LG SmartThinQ app. Start or stop the dehumidifier, monitor bucket capacity and get notifications all from your smartphone. The appliance supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only. You can use 'Settings' in the application to manage the product or the application settings...^IFV
