I would recommend mounting the soundbar with the enclosed brackets to the wall or sit it on a shelf so the sound faces out away from the wall and not towards the floor.

To my knowledge the specific mounting kit that is included with the soundbar is meant to be mounted to your wall and in position under the tv. When researching soundbars I did see some photos of people mounting their soundbar to the tv itself, but for my LG tv I didn't see an easy way to do that without getting creative and using a different mounting kit. I ended up just mounting the TV and I placed the soundbar on the tv stand below it. Looks sharp and avoided the need to deal with another mounting challenge.
