If your rear surrounds are already wired, I'd say to go with a wired system. You will get more bang for your buck that way as you can get a powered sub that is a _lot_ more powerful than the one in this kit. While this isn't a bad kit, it's certainly not audiophile grade. You will always get better sound from a wired setup as it doesn't have to convert the sound to some compressed digital format to send to the speaker to then convert it back to analog to actually be played by the speakers. My advice, if you can go wired, do that.

This would not be the way to get a 5.1 experience, 5.1 systems send specific signals to the various speakers...^IFV
